Marshall has come out with a interesting new amp, called Haze. Currently, there is a 15 watt head and a 40 watt combo available.
The Haze15 has 3 ECC83 preamp tubes and two 6V6 power tubes, but the Hazel40 has two EL34 tubes for the power section.
Both amps come with digital effects and reverb.
It is a great idea by Marshall to offer real tube amps with a bit lower wattage, as many players today opt for smaller rigs. A Marshall stack is never wrong, but not everyone likes hauling around a 100 watt head with accompanying 4x12 cabinets to every gig.
Both the 15 and 40 watt amp have two channels. The "normal" channel handles clean to crunchy, and the "overdrive" channel goes from crunchy to high gain. The combo also has a boost function that is available for both channels.
With the Haze 15 and Haze 40, Marshall is providing a simple, good sounding low powered tube amp to an attractive price. I think many players have been missing what the Haze amps offer - good Marshall tone at lower volumes and a reasonable price (without any need for pedals). The 40 watt Haze combo is currently selling for around $700.00.
Lately, there hasn't been that many competitors to Fender's Hot Rod amps in this price range, at least not amps with the British Marshall flavor. This is a REAL Marshall, of course!
This could become a very popular amp, because of the reasons mention above. I think Marshall is doing the right thing here. Take one for a test drive if you have the chance!

I have yet to try one, but I imagine and trust you guys that it must be a nice amp!
Comment added on April 10, 2010This is a great amp for the money, I have the Haze 40, Its great for blues/classic rock and the onboard effects are a bonus. Leaves the fenders for dead and loves having a strat plugged in!
Comment added on April 10, 2010I have owned several Marshalls throughout my years including the JMPMKII 50 Watt with master volume half stack, combo and full stack. I have owned the Marshall 100 watt non-master volume Plexi and the 80's Artist series amplifiers. So I have owned just about all of the top line Marshall equipment, I wish I still owned each piece!! I have also owned the best that Line 6 has to offer, finally got that out of my system!!
However the very best amplifier (Tone & astetics wise) that I have owned and will never part with is the Marshall Haze 40 watt combo. I finally can say that I have found he tone that I have been searching for all my life. I run my Haze combo through a Marshall 4 x 12 cabinet unplugging the combos' internal speaker and this combonation is the tone I have been always heard in my head.....now I get to hear it through my ears and what a feeling!!
Thanks guys.
I will have the 40 watt version of the Haze in my hands tomorrow, and just looking at these You Tube links, especially the ones from Navada Music, tell me I will be extremely happy with my purchase.
Thanks again for the review and links.
I am digging the new Marshall Haze line. While I don't need one, I am thinking that my next amp will be one of these. Just need to see what money I have to spend and when... Thanks for the great review and links to the video.
